Fabulous Friday - Day 42

This is a picture of me and my precious Daddy. He is 78 and still going strong and fabulous! (Lou Lou, you are right, this shot was taken a couple of years ago :-)

What is it about Fridays? I mean, does anybody else seem to change gears when you look at the calendar and realize it's Friday? Sure you do. Something just resonates....WEEKEND. Yeah.

There is so much I look forward to sharing with you, but I can't seem to encapsulate it at the current moment. Don't you love it when life hums like know, so much energy, you just can't confine it, define it or articulate it. Isn't that when life is at it's best?

I struggled to finish my blog tonight because I felt so distracted by all that is swirling around me.....but suddenly an angel appeared to remind me....""In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." - Albert Schweitzer

You know who you are. Thanks to those who inspire me so. Here's to you kid.

hey Penni,
you look so lovely in that photo - it knocks 10 years of you!
I used to get the Friday buzz but these days I'm starting to feel less of a dissonance between the 'working week' and the weekend. Don't know if that's the new job (I am much happier in my new environment) or because I'm finally starting to be more present, grounded, in a balanced happiness which means work doesn't feel like a drag but weekends, though full of promise and opportunity, just 'are' for me. Yet again, Penni, your thoughts provoke more of my own. Thank you!
Having said all that, I'm off to my nephew's sixth birthday party this weekend. where I'll be face-painting and playing games, plus staying with my parents - so LOTS to look forward to :)

So there was something bothering me about the photo... I finally worked it out (one shower and 3 litres of juicemaking later) - the fringe! So either you've had your haircut since your latest comparison photos, or it's an old photo. Which is it?!

Aww...what a sweet picture of you and your Daddy! :-)

Imagine if one day we are all lit up/inspired at the same time. Imagine the brilliance of a day like that! I don't think it's impossible!

Lots of love to you, Penni.

My father died in January of 1990. It took me a long time to get past that. Now I frequently feel like he is with me. My mom died the summer of 2006, and after that I made it a project to scan a lot of old family photos into the computer, and load them up to Kodak Gallery for the family. Sometimes I would take an hour to polish up a picture using Adobe PhotoShop. It felt like touching the past. It was awesome. I could imagine my father being really pleased that I cared so much about the old photos.

I've glad your pop is still here with you.
